But Natalie, how exactly can you do both video and photos at my wedding? Are you a super human?

Well, what can I say, the secret is out...
To be completely honest, I could just say that I am a professional who knows how weddings work, who knows how to communicate with you and the rest of the suppliers and who has equipment that makes her life just so much more easier. But … basically, call me Wanda or Diana - or any other absolutely badass female superhero:-)

I had quite a few people ask now how can I do both photos and videos at the same time, so I thought I would put together a quick blog to show you what it looks like when I do both!

As far as how the day looks - easy. I’ve got 3 cameras, 2 are mainly for photos and one is for video. I have two of them attached to a Spyder holster which is this kind of a belt that makes me look like Lara Croft of wedding photography. The video camera is on a harness that makes me look like I’m.. very into (vegan) leather? :-)

For moments like ceremony or speeches, I know I can just put the video camera in a tripod and let it do it’s own thing, while I move around with my other cameras and take photos. I obviously move my tripod with me when it needs to be done. I make sure I know the timings and all surprises so I am ready with all cameras at the right spot at the right time - I send multiple questionnaires to make sure we don’t forget about anything.
For the more ‘standard’ moments - I’ve shot enough of weddings by now to know where to position myself and when to move etc. If I am doing for example confetti shots - I am shooting photos with my right hand, while my left has my videocamera pointed at you. It all sounds absolutely mad, but I promise, it is actually easier and less chaotic than I make it sound!

And why should you hire me to do both your photos and wedding film? Aside of the fact that hopefully you love me, my work and my personality already … couple more reasons are:
You probably gonna save some money by having me to do both. What a win.
I won’t get in someone’s way and they won’t get in mine. Double win.
You definitely are not going to accidentally hire my ex boyfriend who might as well be the worst ‘videographer’ in the world. Triple win.
The style is going to be the same across all of it - photos and film! Quadruple win.

I know that blogs should be long so google would know that I am talking about the fact that I am a wedding photographer and videographer, who takes wedding photos and make wedding films ( I am basically just trying to cheat here and get all the words in the blog as much as possible ;)), but I would rather just let the work talk than waffle about things :-)

So here is a little selection of photos from Stephanie and Mikey’s December wedding at the absolutely stunning North Cadbury Court … and also their wedding film! Hope you love all of these as much as I do! <3
